Medication for Treating Misophonia: Updates for 2026

You're Not a Bad Person: Understanding Misophonia Anger

In-person

About the Session

Session 1: Medication for Treating Misophonia: Updates for 2026

The unpleasant intensity of the misophonia “fight or flight” response can interfere with attempts to treat the condition through talk or behavioral therapy. Certain medications can reduce the intensity of trigger responses, thereby reducing trigger-related suffering and potentially assisting other treatment approaches.

Session 2: You’re Not a Bad Person: Understanding Misophonia Anger

This breakout group will explore one of the most distressing and misunderstood parts of misophonia: the intense anger, panic, or aggressive feelings that can arise in response to triggers. Led by Dr. Jadon Webb, this small-group discussion will help patients and family members understand these reactions through the lens of the fight-or-flight response, reducing shame while making room for honest conversation about safety, guilt, family stress, and coping.

Megan Berry will assist with this session.
