In the Exploring Misophonia clinic on May 3, 2026, with Dr. Marsha Johnson and Adam Bucklow, participants were asked to share at least one thing that they gained. Here are a few of the responses.
- Anticipation is louder than sound; seeing is like hearing.
- Adam gave incredible insight and perspective i wasn’t even aware of with this condition. I saw a lot of compassion with everyone who spoke.
- It is not my fault that I have misophonia.
- I really enjoyed Adam Bucklow’s calm and soothing approach. I appreciated his broader definition of trauma and the injustice misophonia idea of not having a voice.
- Adam’s descriptions of misophonia, misokinesia, and how he treats them so deepened my understanding.
- How nervous system regulation and anti-inflammatories can benefit therapies. Havening has been a beneficial therapy for many.
- I am not alone in mimicking the sound that bothers me. Inflammation can increase reactions.
- Injustice misophonia is so true. When someone has wronged me, the associated trigger becomes magnified, when before it was not much of an issue.
- Adam had a lot of amazing explanations and pearls that made a lot of sense!
- This was an absolutely amazing and informative workshop! I feel so seen and understood. I was also able to identify my trauma origin for misophonia, so a very big thank you!
